The Ole Miss softball team (4-3) will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas, this weekend for its second tournament of the season. The Memphis Commercial Appeal's Kyle Veazey was in Jonesboro, Ark. when Arkansas State defeated Louisiana-Lafayette for the de facto Sun Belt Championship. He shares his thoughts on what he saw from Freeze, the team, the program and the fan base.

What I remember most about that afternoon isn't so much about the kind of football they played as it was the kind of excitement the community had about the team. The radio guy was hyping it up big-time driving in. Said it was the biggest game there in 25 years. A hotel by the bypass had "FEEL THE FREEZE" painted on the window. That sort of stuff.

In response to the DM’s recent article on the student green fee initiative, I think it’s important to clarify a few statements that were made in the article.

To the Editor:

In response to the DM’s recent article on the student green fee initiative, I think it’s important to clarify a few statements that were made in the article.  First, I want to reiterate that the grassroots effort to implement a green fee is entirely a student-led initiative.  The Office of Sustainability supports the idea of a green fee, but the ideas generated and the projects chosen should be guided by the students.

In an unprecedented move a few weeks ago, the University announced that most non-freshman students must relocate to off-campus housing next semester to accommodate the hoards of new students attending the University of Mississippi in the fall.

As could be expected, many current students are outraged at the decision, having to make other living arrangements on such short notice. Although many students had not planned on staying on campus next year anyway, many other students are unexpectedly being forced to find off-campus housing.
