On election night, communication sciences and disorders senior LaQuoyia Murray posted a response to the disturbance on campus that followed the reelection of President Obama on her Facebook page.

“It basically just said how disgusted I was with the people that participated in the quote, unquote riots that happened that night,” she said. “I felt disgusted that students at our school would even go to those lengths with the racial slurs.”

Murray said she did call those students “racists” in her post.

Character is what you do when no one is watching. We have all heard that phrase at some point in our lives, but our generation has a much higher hurdle to jump to live up to these words.

Tweeting has become second nature for some of us. You tweet what your friend wore to a party the night before, you tweet what you wore to the same party and then you tweet who looked better.
Tweeting has become a vital part of our social, personal and professional lives. Next to Facebook, it’s that all-important action that keeps you connected and pertinent in this digital world in which we live.

Maybe privacy is overrated. Maybe asking someone if you can use their personal opinions as endorsements is just a common courtesy that’s outdated in this digital and technological world that we now live in.
And maybe Republican Todd Akin will be the keynote speaker at the next National Organization for Women’s conference too. Right after Akin congratulates Joe Biden on shooing himself and President Obama right back into the White House with his winning speech at a recent Virginia rally.

Freedom of speech is one of the cornerstones of American idealism, but as technology evolves that freedom is becoming more difficult to regulate. Its latest obstacle: social media.

On Monday, in a unanimous 9-0 decision, the Supreme Court held that police must obtain a warrant before using a global positioning system to track suspects.

Justice Samuel Alito focused on the physical nature of attaching a GPS device to a suspect’s vehicle.

Frankly, this is not a surprising outcome. One can easily imagine a variety of ways in which police officers maneuver themselves in order to attach these devices to cars.

Many college students have gone through money problems during his or her college career.

With the new Campus Special mobile app, students will have their own personal coupon book in the palm of their hands.

The Campus Special mobile app was launched to 150 universities nationwide in August for students to download on their iPhones or Androids for free. For University of Mississippi students who frequent the Oxford University Transit buses, a new iPhone app could mean less frustration and more progress at bus stops.

Busvetica is an application for mobile Apple products that locates the nearest bus stop and displays the next bus arrival time.

The Apple application, which works with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, was developed by Ian Meyer and his company Adelie Software. He said the idea for the app came to him upon observing confusing bus arrival times in his town of Chapel Hill, N.C.

After seven years of battling pancreatic cancer, Steve Jobs has died at age 56, leaving behind a legacy of technological innovation and imagination for generations to come.
Fans and followers are mourning the passing of the Apple visionary and founder of one of the most successful businesses in the world with memorials and testimonies, often created with devices that Jobs invented.
Personally, my mother has often mocked that we should have bought stock in Apple long ago, with the numerous iPods, iBooks, iPhones and so on that have wandered through our house.

As I was reading The Washington Post headlines early Saturday morning, my gaze came across something that stopped it mid-page: ‘Philippines officials Photoshop themselves into typhoon cleanup photo.’ Now at 5 a.m. I admit, I’m not at my absolute best, but took it for granted that I’m still capable of literacy.
